Trinkets are a kind of collectible with their own designated slot that provide passive bonuses. Only one trinket can be carried at a time and must be dropped if you wish to carry another. Some of these limitations can be bypassed with certain items; Mom's Purse and Belly Button allow two trinkets to be held at once, and trinkets can be absorbed by Smelter, Marbles, or Gulp!.
The original Binding of Isaac DLC 'The Wrath of the Lamb' introduced Trinkets as a mechanic and had 33 trinekts. Rebirth has a total of 60 trinkets. Afterbirth added 29 new trinkets, for a total of 89 trinkets. Afterbirth † added 38 new trinkets, for a total of 128 trinkets.
Notes
- It is possible to drop a trinket by holding down the key or button bound to "Drop" function for three seconds. (Doing this is not possible with the Tick).
- While held, Mom's Box doubles the effect of most trinkets.
- Trinkets appear in a set order based on the run's seed, and each trinket can usually only be encountered once.
- Some trinkets are set drops, such as Mysterious Paper from Divorce Papers and The Left Hand from Ultra Pride, that will appear even if encountered previously.
- Other set drops, such as Swallowed Penny from a urn or Umbilical Cord from a polyp will not appear if already seen.
- If the player spawns enough trinkets, e.g. through Mom's Box, the cycle loops and begins spawning trinkets that were already encountered.

Trivia
- The Polaroid was originally a trinket in the original Binding of Isaac, but it was changed in an item.
- Wiggle Worm was an item in the original Binding of Isaac, however in Rebirth it was changed into a trinket. Interestingly, these changes keep the count of items and trinkets from the original game the same.
- Afterbirth+'s original trinket count was 29. The Booster Packs added 9 trinkets.
