Black Hearts[]

Are black hearts named something different, similar to red hearts and heart containers. Demon Hearts, for example? Hopefully we will find out when rebirth releases, or the community makes a decision (similar to how I believe we did with spirit/soul hearts.) I'd say it should have it's own page under mechanics, rather than attributes. We can always add a short mention of flight (with a reference to the actual page) on this page if necessary. Tinkiewinkie (talk) 21:58, 10 November 2014 (UTC)

Size as a hidden stat[]

Wouldn't Size count as another hidden attribute?

Added a list of things that are affected by the luck stat. The info was gathered by another reddit user who did some testing. The beggar part will probably need some more testing for confirmation since only the key master had a reasonably big sample size to confirm that the actual payout chance increased with luck. The writer who wrote "Maximizes at 50% with less than 20 Luck" can explain what he/she meant? As far as I'm concerned, you should maximize at 19 Luck (or at 20 Luck ?). "Maximizing with less than 20 Luck" doesn't make any sense: "maximize" means to reach the maximum. Maybe the writer meant "improve until 20 Luck" ? Also, are bum friend and dark bum affected by the Luck stat? I remember a play-through where Dark bum spawned like 60% hostile spiders, so now I'm wondering. Even if there is no causality, the information should be added under "However, Luck doesn't affect:" 12:33, 28 March 2015 (UTC)

I would assume the writer didn't know what Luck was required to cap the chance at 50%, but knew the cap to be lower than 20. It could be that it maximizes at 15 Luck, or at 18 Luck, or what have you (I don't know), but having that the cap is 20 Luck or less (even without knowing exactly where that maximum is) is still better than having no information at all. 19:15, 28 March 2015 (UTC)

Damage Formula[]

The below formula determines the way a character's damage is calculated.

Base_Effective_Damage • sqrt(1.2 • Σ(Damage_Up) + 1) + Σ(Flat_Damage_Up) = Standard_Damage

Standard_Damage can then be modified by things like Polyphemus to equal Total_Damage. (e.g. (Standard_Damage + 4) • 2 = Total_Damage for Polyphemus)


The Faith page redirects here but all information on that was removed. Either the redirect should be removed or there should be a note added on this page.

Tear Delay[]

This section seems to be lacking a lot of detail, especially considering the handful of numbers on the Platinumgod website. Some aggregation of that on the wiki would be nice. Ivysaur1996 (talk) 05:15, 2 February 2015 (UTC)

Regardless, this page doesn't seem to discuss Tear Delay, a hidden attribute which is separate from the Tears stat.

Question regarding Range[]

So as of Repentance, Range has been completely overhauled in terms of how it's displayed.

Can anyone confirmed or deny that this change more than surface-level?
If the internal mechanics for range have indeed been changed, then ALL ITEMS must be modified to fit with the new "range" measurement system.
If the changes to range are only surface-level, and INTERNALLY range is still measured in the old way, then how are we handling that?
