Los monstruos son las criaturas enemigas a las que el jugador se enfrenta durante la partida.

La mayoría de monstruos (con leves excepciones) causarán daños a Isaac, ya sea tocándole o lanzándole proyectiles. Existen unas versión campeón de los monstruos que son similares a sus contrapartes, pero con colores o dimensiones superiores y que además soltarán recompensas al morir. También hay versiones campón de los jefes.

Hay 196 monstruos que aparecen de forma natural. 40 fueron añadidos en Afterbirth y 21 en Afterbirth † (13 en el Booster Pack). Casi todos aparecen de forma natural y se pueden ver en el Bestiario de Added in Afterbirth †, con algunas excepciones, como el pozo de succión.

Campeones[]

Algunos monstruos pueden aparecer como Campeones, variando su color y tamaño. La coloración y el tamaño definen su comportamiento. Generalmente soltarán una recompensa al morir (segun el color que tengan) en dificultad normal. Sin embargo, en modo difícil la tasa de obtención se reducirá al 33 % en modo Greed y las criaturas no soltarán objetos.

La mayoría de campeones tiene un aspecto visual un 15 % más grande, causan más daño (depende del capítulo y tienen el doble de salud que un monstruo normal. Por lo general son más peligrosos que los monstruos normales.

Removed in Afterbirth † Los campeones siempre causan daño al entrar en contacto con Isaac, aunque su versión estándar no lo haga.
