Found In Mini-Boss
Krampus is a mini-boss that occasionally appears inside of a Devil room.
When he stops and roars, he is about to shoot
lasers in all 4 cardinal ( Brimstone or diagonal) directions.
The Brimstone beams sometimes can rotate 90 degrees after being shot.
Krampus will growl just like The Fallen and quickly dash towards the player if the Brimstone Beams are going to rotate. He also spits 3 projectiles then 4 consecutively.
When not performing either of these attacks, he flies about the room aimlessly.
Beating Krampus the first time will unlock
. Head of Krampus Krampus will generally start by attacking with projectiles before firing Brimstone lasers.
will not change the items dropped from Krampus. Chaos Rerolling
or A Lump of Coal with Head of Krampus will cause another The D6 Devil Room Pool item to appear. Krampus does a full heart of damage on contact.
Krampus can never appear in the first Devil Room entered on a run.
Krampus is based on an
Alpine folkloric figure of similar appearance, supposedly acting as a contrast to Saint Nicholas, punishing children who misbehave near Christmas time.
This is most likely why A Lump of Coal is in his item pool. Krampus's attack pattern and appearance are similar to
The Fallen, but Krampus does not split upon death.
Krampus can spawn in Greed Mode without needing to be unlocked.
