- This item is a guaranteed drop from Uriel if not already in possession.
- The Golden Gate can alternatively be opened using Cracked Orb, Dad's Key, Get out of Jail Free Card, Mr. ME!, Sharp Key, or Soul of Cain.
- This item, along with Key Piece 2, can be rerolled into any item from the Angel Room pool.
- This item also counts as a familiar, meaning it takes up a familiar slot.
- Unlocking the Golden Gate with the combined key pieces and then restarting the floor with Forget Me Now or an I AM ERROR room will waste the key, which will not respawn.
- Will not be rerolled by D4, D100, or Dice Room effects.
- Will not be doubled by Box of Friends
- Picking up two copies with Diplopia will not double its Eternal Heart effect.
- Familiars that follow behind Isaac have a certain priority in how close their position is to him over other familiars, with Key Piece 1 having the lowest priority at 6th and thus being farther from Isaac than familiars of different priorities.
