Keeper's Box is an unlockable activated item added in The Binding of Isaac: Repentance.

Effects

• Spawns a random pickup or item, which must be bought for its normal Shop price.
  • Items generated by the box will always be shop items.
    • If used while playing as Tainted Isaac, the alternate item will be from the pool of the room it's used in.
  • It has an equal ~11.1% chance to spawn a card, pill, bomb, key, battery, item, soul heart, red heart, or a sack.
  • The pickup/item will be surrounded by spikes/cost hearts if the box is used in a Devil Room, a Black Market, if Isaac has A Pound of Flesh or is in a boss room after using Satanic Bible.
    • While playing as Tainted Lost / The Lost pickups that would cost health are free.

Notes

• Keeper's Box can spawn hearts when used as Keeper or Tainted Keeper, unlike normal shops. They cannot be purchased by these characters, however.

Synergies

• Book of Virtues: Spawns glowing coin wisps on the middle ring. Enemies killed by the wisps' tears have a 20% chance to drop a random coin.
• Coupon / Mr. ME! / Crooked Penny + Schoolbag: Spawned pickups/items can be made free.
• D20 + Schoolbag: Rerolled pickups have a chance to reroll into an item from the current room's item pool.
• Keeper's Sack: Stat upgrades from the spawned pickups/items can be gained even when shops become unavailable (Floors after the Mom fight excluding ???).
• Restock: Buying spawned pickups in the Shop will always respawn them as items and their prices will never increase. This does not work outside of the shop. It also works in Greed and Greedier modes, although it will respawn them as (random) pickups.
• Steam Sale: Spawned pickups/items will be on sale.

Interactions

• Adoption Papers: Does not affect Keeper's Box' items, meaning both familiars and shop items can be purchased in tandem over the course of a run.
• Chaos / Sacred Orb / TMTRAINER: Affects items spawned by the box.
• Store Credit: Cannot be used on consumables or items spawned by Keeper's Box outside of the Shop.

Trivia

• Keeper's Box has a similar shape to Pandora's Box, along with a keyhole in the same position.
• This item is similar to Portable Slot, and the pickup quote (Portable shop) may be a reference to it.
