Faded Polaroid is a trinket added in The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth.
Effect[ | ]
- Occasionally causes Isaac to blend into the ground, which briefly confuses all enemies in the room.
- Can be used to open the Strange Door instead of The Polaroid or The Negative, destroying the trinket in the process.
Notes[ | ]
- Confusion is only applied when Isaac begins fading into the background. Any enemy that spawns while Isaac is already faded won't be confused until Isaac fades in, then out again.
- Faded Polaroid has the highest priority to open the Strange Door, and will always be taken first if Isaac is holding multiple items that open it.
- Faded Polaroid cannot open the Strange Door if it was consumed by "Gulp!" pill, Marbles, or Smelter.
Synergies[ | ]
- Golden Trinket / Mom's Box / Faded Polaroid: Each trinket copy stacks, lengthening the duration of the confusion and visual effect per stack.
In-game Footage[ | ]
Trivia[ | ]
- Faded Polaroid being used to open the Strange Door is a nod to a mechanic in the original Binding of Isaac: Wrath of The Lamb flash game, where The Polaroid was a trinket in that game and was required to access the Chest after beating Cathedral.
