E. Coli is a passive item.

Effects[ | ]

  • Enemies that touch Isaac are transformed into PoopPoop.
  • PoopPoops, including these not created by E.Coli, have now a 6.25% chance to drop a pickup if it normally wouldn't drop anything.
  • (except in Rebirth) This item belongs to the Oh CrapOh Crap set. Collecting three items from this set will transform Isaac into a walking pile of poop.

Notes[ | ]

  • Bosses cannot be turned into poop.
  • Enemies that are turned into poop do not count towards on kill effects such as health regeneration from Collectible Charm of the Vampire iconCharm of the Vampire (except in Rebirth) or the damage increase from Collectible Lusty Blood iconLusty Blood.
  • Poop created by this item is not grid-aligned, and flashes red when hit, similar to damaging monsters.
    • (in Afterbirth † and Repentance) Poops produced by E. Coli crumble upon being attacked, identically to regular poops.
  • If you touch the middle section of a GrubGrub with E. Coli, it will then split and become two heads (rather than destroying and spawning MaggotMaggots).
  • (except in Repentance) MulliboomMullibooms can be turned into poop without taking damage.
  • The poops vanish if the room is left and then returned to.
  • Turning Champion version of a monster into poop will forfeit the chance to get the champion's drop.
