Dry Baby is a passive item.

Effects[ | ]

  • Spawns a familiar that follows Isaac around and blocks enemy projectiles. Upon blocking a shot, it has a 10% chance of triggering Collectible The Necronomicon iconThe Necronomicon effect, dealing 40 damage to all enemies in the room.
  • (in Repentance) This item belongs to the ConjoinedConjoined set. Collecting three items from this set will transform Isaac into a three-faced version of himself.

  • Collectible The Necronomicon iconThe Necronomicon effect can occur multiple times in the same room.
  • It can be used to block multiple shots if positioned correctly.
  • This item can rarely drop from skulls.
  • (in Repentance) Familiars that follow behind Isaac have a certain priority in how close their position is to him over other familiars, with Dry Baby having 4th priority.

    • If both are held at the same time, triples damage of Dry Baby, from 40 to 120.
  • (in Afterbirth † and Repentance)Duct TapeDuct Tape: Picking up Duct Tape while Dry Baby has the same position as Isaac will result in Dry Baby blocking almost all projectiles that would hit him while holding the trinket.
    • This can be achieved by standing in a doorway, dropping Duct Tape, leaving the room, then re-entering the room slowly.

  • (except in Repentance)Collectible Isaac's Heart iconIsaac's Heart: If Isaac has obtained Dry Baby in the first familiar spot before Isaac's Heart, the baby will block enemy tears before they can hit the heart. Enemies touching the heart can still do damage, and picking up the baby after the heart will cause the heart's hitbox to be checked first against shots.
    • (in Repentance) Isaac's Heart no longer follows Isaac in a way where Dry Baby can constantly block it from tears.
